Pan Pacific Ensemble CDs
Feng, our first CD, will be released in the summer of 2019 on Albany Records. The title track, Feng, is a two-movement quintet by Chen Yi. We are thrilled to release this CD of a collection of diverse music that we absolutely love. Many of the pieces on this CD were first performed by the Pan Pacific Ensemble on our first two recitals at the China ASEAN Music Week in Nanning, China in June 2016.

ironhorses will be released in the fall of 2019 on Albany Records. The title track, ironhorses, is by Nick Omiccioli. Nick describes himself as a "metal-head in a classical musician's world." The rock influence in the music gives this work an incredible sense of drive and momentum. Four of the works on this CD were commissioned by the Pan Pacific Ensemble. We have had the privilege of working with some fantastic composers, and we are excited to share the result of years of hard work.

Ambiguous Traces was released in September 2022 on Albany Records. The title track, Ambiguous Traces, is by Narong Prangcharoen. The Pan Pacific Ensemble commissioned this work after having performed Prangcharoen's quintet Shadow on the album Feng. This album features a combination of works commissioned by the Pan Pacific Ensemble, and works by composers that the ensemble has met and worked with over the years. The album ends with Woodwind Quintet No. 3: Suite from China West by Chen Yi. With the recording of this work, the Pan Pacific Ensemble has recorded each of Chen Yi's three pieces for wind quintet, one on each album.
